An Ohio Geography Lesson

Concerning coal and Cleveland-centricty. Via Brewed Fresh Daily. I really like the 50 mile radius from Akron map, and the quadrant map. The fact is, I just like maps.

It's always interesting to me how mental maps diverge from physical geography. I always think of Lake County as being directly east of downtown Cleveland, whereas it is northeast, and of Youngstown (Mahoning County) as being directly east of some of the southern Cleveland suburbs (like, say, Solon), whereas it is really much further south than that. I suspect that this particular divergence has something to do with the two interstates that go "east" from Cleveland, and I further suspect that my mental map of Lake County would be more accurate if I lived there...
